A Good Find

We set one of the Christmas trees up today which required a lot of funriture movement. The boys hit the bone jackpot under the sofa. Kept them busy for hours with thier “new” toys.

Happy Thanksgiving

Today Bob discovered that he likes beer … I am thinking that this is not really a good thing. I would also say that they both, Bob and Eddie, had a good day hanging out in the kitchen waiting for food to drop.  They had a pretty good success ratio and are both sleeping off the food coma now.

Return Visitor

Onyx has been staying with us again the last couple of weeks. It did not take long for the boys to take over his bed once again. Makes me think we need to get Bob and Eddie their own blanket!

Another From The Archives

This video features not only Bob as a puppy, but also shows Doggy (yes, Doggy) the cat that is sadly no longer with us.

Video Once Lost

Going through some older computer equipment I came across the small video recorder Debie gave me as a Christmas gift a few years ago and to my amazement video’s of Bob as a puppy were still on it.  Here is the first of three videos of Bob being Bob.

Home Cooking

Last fall Eddie developed a rash all over his belly, between the pads on his feet, and in the folds where his legs joined his body. After several trips to the vet and 3 sessions of antibiotics and steroids we were all pretty sure he had a food allergy.  We wound up putting him on a special dry food that was specifically made for food allergies. Not cheap at $70.00 a bag, so we kept Bob on his regular food and gave Eddie his new one. The worst part was that while it cleared Eddie up, nobody really knew what he was allergic to, including the vet. The only way to figure it out was to start adding things back in slowly to see what caused a reaction.

So this was how we started out spending a few hours once a week cooking for the boys. After doing research on home cooking for dogs, what their nutritional needs are and what they cannot eat, we stared out with just plain chicken and brown rice. After a few weeks on that and no skin or digestive problems, we added in carrots and then some additional veggies. So far so good with that so the newest add in is egg.  The boys love cooking time since the get a whole extra meal of what falls on the floor! Here are some pics of the big production.
